Installation advice

In this part of 'The Guide' we provide advice on installing neatComponents - which is the engine behind clearString.

It's generally a straightforward process, and you'll see in the right-column of this page the topics we cover in this section. On each page you'll also find an 'Additional Advice' section which answers most commonly asked questions.

Deciding where to install

All design, build and management tasks are managed using your browser - Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome on your regular computer - Linux, Windows or Mac.

The neatComponents server software that powers clearString and hosts all your websites and web applications is installed on another machine, accessed either on the LAN (local network) or across the Internet, or in the Cloud or at a hosting company.

We recommend using the Amazon AWS Cloud

		Using the Amazon AWS Cloud... It is a low cost alternative to using your own machines, and avoids any conflicts with other software you may have already.
Or you can use any suitable Windows machine
		Working with your own Windows machine... Using your own desktop or server, real or virtual, local or remote hosted.
