File
Stores a file.
File Storage
There are two levels for file storage:
The default file storage is Record.
When files are stored at the Record level, they are placed in a folder that is specific to the record, but shared between all fields in that record which are set to Record level storage. Thus in theory two different fields could reference the same stored file.
When files are stored at the Field level, they are in a separate folder dedicated to that field in the record. This allows separate fields to have files of the same name without conflict.
Sub Fields
When selected in the Table field configuration dialog, the following subfields can be populated:
- Size - the size of the file in bytes
- Type - the filetype
- Name - the name of the fil
Sub Fields are treated as extra fields for use in Queries, named {fieldname}.{sub field}. |
