Settings control the behavior of a component.

Note: Settings and inheritance

All settings for a page can be set either in the Behavior Editor for the page itself, or set higher up in the site tree.

If they are set higher up, then the values are 'inherited' by pages within that section. Inherited settings are shown with a grey background, locally set settings have a white background.

Local settings override inherited settings. If you delete a local setting, it will revert to the inherited setting.
